Established in the spring of 2000 by eight dedicated visionaries, the Khemera Dance Troupe (KDT) serves as a vital guardian of Cambodia’s ancient artistic legacy within the heart of Utah and its neighboring states. Born from a steadfast commitment to cultural preservation, the troupe has successfully revitalized sinuous, elegant movements that were once the exclusive privilege of royalty but nearly faced extinction during the Pol Pot regime. Today, our ensemble of approximately 20 talented performers brings this sacred art form to life, adorned in meticulously handcrafted costumes inspired by the grandeur of the Cambodian Royal Dance Troupe. Through the generous support of our community, we continue to share the resilience and beauty of Khmer heritage, fostering a living bridge between generations and cultures.
